Programme Overview
- Offers practical internship assignments in fields relevant to FAO’s work (agriculture, food security, environment, etc.).
- Duration: 3 to 11 months depending on duty station and whether the intern is sponsored.
Requirements / Eligibility
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited undergraduate or graduate programme, or participating in a sponsoring institution/internship programme.
- Nationals of FAO member states.
- Age between 21 and 30 years at the time of application.
- Good proficiency in at least one FAO official language (English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, or Russian).
- Applicants must not have immediate family members (parents, siblings) employed under FAO’s contractual arrangement.
Benefits
- Interns receive a stipend not exceeding USD 700 per month (local currency equivalent) if they are not sponsored. Sponsored interns receive the stipend defined in the sponsoring agreement.
